This recording booth offers pretty good noise isolation from the surrounding area and walls fitted with Auralex acoustic foam to prevent echoes within the booth. The booth comes equipped with a laptop with audio production software, an audio interface (Steinberg UR 22 mk II) that accepts 2 inputs, and Sennheiser HD 280 Pro Studio Monitoring Headphones. We usually have an Audio-Technica AT2020 condenser microphone set up on a mic stand with a pop filter. You can request a Shure SM-57 or SM-58 microphone if you prefer.
Software on our laptops includes: FL Studio, Audacity, REAPER. If you are new to recording, we recommend starting with Audacity - it's a basic audio recorder and editor with lots of tutorials available on Youtube.
This booth is comfortably-sized for one person with one or more instruments, and can fit two or three people if needed. A stool and a music stand are also available on request.
Please bring a USB drive so that you can save your audio files and take them with you; files saved to the computer may be deleted at any time.
If you are bringing your own computer or recording gear, please let us know and we can take our equipment out to make room for yours. Our audio interface uses a USB-A cable to connect to a computer, so if your computer doesn't have that (for instance, newer MacBooks usually do not have this port), please bring an adapter with you.
