Runaway Slave Advertisements in the Maritimes

PARKING NOTE: Due to a Jets game, parking will be in demand and traffic will be busy. Please plan ahead by arriving early or taking public transit. Examining runaway slave advertisements from the Maritimes after the Loyalist influx gives us a window into the lives of individual slaves: who they were, where they lived, what work they did, personality traits and whether they secured freedom. With Dr. Harvey Amani Whitfield, associate professor of history at the University of Vermont.
