Take Your Child to the Library Day

Bring your family to Take Your Child to the Library Day on Saturday, February 2

Drop in for special performances and family-fun activities

Swap your current library card for our special children’s card (at no cost on February 2 only).

 

Join the celebration at all libraries with  family music concerts, magic, and puppet shows.

For parents/caregivers and their children.

 

Admission to all performances is by free tickets distributed starting 30 minutes before show time.

 

Visit our activity stations anytime during the day! Make & take crafts, play some games, go on a scavenger hunt, read some exciting books, and show off your new library card with fun props in our photo booth

Programs and events at Winnipeg Public Library are always free.

Public Program Registration Guidelines

  • An email address is required to register for all programs. If you do not have an email address, register by calling or visiting any Library branch.
  • Duplicate registrations for the same name will be cancelled.
  • The Library reserves the right to limit the number of program attendees.
  • Family programs including Baby Rhyme Time, Toddler Time, Family Story Time, and 3-5 with a caregiver programs are an opportunity for caregivers to participate together with their child in the program.
  • School age programs are for children ages 6-8, 6-12, or 9-12. Children attend on their own unless otherwise indicated. Teen programs are for Grades 7-12.
  • Programs with children ages 11 and younger require a caregiver to remain in the library during the program. In the absence of a caregiver, the Library does not assume responsibility for a child.
  • Children are not supervised by library staff outside of the program space (e.g. washroom breaks or leaving the program early exit from the program).
  • Children of all abilities are welcome to attend Library programs. If the child requires the support of a caregiver to participate in a program, please speak with staff.
  • Online library programs use Zoom. Please familiarize yourself with Zoom before the program.
