Family Law: What Are My Options?

This presentation is for individuals who may be representing themselves in family proceedings, for service providers, or for those who simply wish to learn more about family law in Manitoba. It will discuss topics including what to do when you separate, how to file for divorce, what to expect when you meet with a lawyer, and the basics of court procedure. Presented by CLEA (Community Legal Education Association).

Programs and events at Winnipeg Public Library are always free.

Public Program Registration Guidelines

  • An email address is required to register for all programs. If you do not have an email address, register by calling or visiting any Library branch.
  • The Library reserves the right to limit the number of program attendees.
  • Programs for young children and families are an opportunity for caregivers to participate together with their child in the program.
  • Children of all abilities are welcome to attend Library programs. If the child requires the support of a caregiver to participate in a program, please speak with staff.
  • School age programs are for children ages 6-12. Children attend on their own unless otherwise indicated. Tween programs are for children ages 9-12. Teen programs are for Grades 7-12.
  • Programs with children ages 11 and younger require a caregiver to remain in the library during the program. In the absence of a caregiver, the Library does not assume responsibility for a child.
  • Children are not supervised by library staff outside of the program space (e.g. washroom breaks or leaving the program early exit from the program).
  • Online library programs use Zoom. Please familiarize yourself with Zoom before the program.
