Indigenous Ways and Interconnectedness - Earth Day at the Library
In-PersonJoin the circle and listen to Carl Stone share about the environment, interconnectedness, and the importance of both.
This program is happening in the Carol Shields Auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Millennium Library.
Carl Stone was born on the Brokenhead Ojibway Nation and raised by his grandmother, Eliza Stone, a respected Elder and of the Anishinabe Midewin Society. A grandfather to five and brother to 16 siblings, he has been active in reclaiming Anishinabe spiritual and cultural ways for the past 48 years. Currently, he is an Elder-in-Residence at the Indigenous Student Centre, University of Manitoba. Carl continues to work in Ceremonies, such as the Sundance, Sweat Lodge, and Pipe Ceremony, as well as other ceremonies. He is an Elders' helper and guest lectures on Indigenous Identity, Traditional Teachings and Spirituality.
