Breeding Plants for the Prairies

Online

Are you interested in adding new cold hardy plants that are more suited to our changing urban environment? Join Rick Durand for a conversation about his experience developing new cultivars of trees, shrubs, roses, and perennials suited to the prairies. Rick has been breeding and conducting research on this topic for over 45 years. He will discuss the key things to consider when adding new species to your garden, and share examples of cultivars that are thriving in Winnipeg and the surrounding areas. Take a peek into the fascinating world of developing new cold hardy plants!
