English Conversation Group

Practice your English skills and meet new friends! Groups are small and you will learn while having fun. This session runs for 6 meetings, starting Tuesday September 23 through to Tuesday November 4, from 5-6:30 PM. No meeting on Tuesday September 30 (libraries closed for the National Day of Truth & Reconciliation).

For EAL learners who can speak English in short sentences (CLB 4 to 6). Please attend all 6 meetings. 

Registration starts September 9 at 10:00 AM.

Programs and events at Winnipeg Public Library are always free.

Registration is required. There are no seats available but a waiting list is available.

Public Program Registration Guidelines

  • An email address is required to register for all programs. If you do not have an email address, register by calling or visiting any Library branch.
  • Duplicate registrations for the same name will be cancelled.
  • The Library reserves the right to limit the number of program attendees.
  • Family programs including Baby Rhyme Time, Toddler Time, Family Story Time, and 3-5 with a caregiver programs are an opportunity for caregivers to participate together with their child in the program.
  • School age programs are for children ages 6-8, 6-12, or 9-12. Children attend on their own unless otherwise indicated. Teen programs are for ages 13-17.
  • Programs with children ages 11 and younger require a caregiver to remain in the library during the program. In the absence of a caregiver, the Library does not assume responsibility for a child.
  • Children are not supervised by library staff outside of the program space (e.g. washroom breaks or leaving the program early exit from the program).
  • Children of all abilities are welcome to attend Library programs. If the child requires the support of a caregiver to participate in a program, please speak with staff.
  • Online library programs use Zoom. Please familiarize yourself with Zoom before the program.
