Discover ChatGPT: What It Is & How To Use It

Heard of ChatGPT but not sure what it is or how it works? Join us for a hands-on, beginner introduction to generative AI and ChatGPT—a powerful tool that can help with writing, brainstorming, learning new topics, and more. Learn about:

• what ChatGPT is and how it works.

• what generative AI can and can’t do.

• how to craft effective inputs or “prompts”.

• ways to use ChatGPT in everyday life.

After a short presentation, you will have time to try ChatGPT yourself. Basic computer skills are required for this hands-on workshop.

Please cancel your registration in advance if you are unable to attend. No-show registrants may be denied spots in future workshops.

Public Program Registration Guidelines

  • An email address is required to register for all programs. If you do not have an email address, register by calling or visiting any Library branch.
  • Duplicate registrations for the same name will be cancelled.
  • The Library reserves the right to limit the number of program attendees.
  • Family programs including Baby Rhyme Time, Toddler Time, Family Story Time, and 3-5 with a caregiver programs are an opportunity for caregivers to participate together with their child in the program.
  • School age programs are for children ages 6-8, 6-12, or 9-12. Children attend on their own unless otherwise indicated. Teen programs are for ages 13-17.
  • Programs with children ages 11 and younger require a caregiver to remain in the library during the program. In the absence of a caregiver, the Library does not assume responsibility for a child.
  • Children are not supervised by library staff outside of the program space (e.g. washroom breaks or leaving the program early exit from the program).
  • Children of all abilities are welcome to attend Library programs. If the child requires the support of a caregiver to participate in a program, please speak with staff.
  • Online library programs use Zoom. Please familiarize yourself with Zoom before the program.
