Get Better Together: Living Well with Chronic Health Issues

Developed by Stanford University, Get Better Together is a wellness program led by peers living with a chronic health condition or supporting someone with a chronic condition. You’ll develop the tools to understand your condition, manage your symptoms, and lead a healthier life. See the pamphlet attached below for a description of the topics covered in each week's session.

This program runs for six weeks, from Thursday November 6 to Thursday December 11.

Recommended for adults with Arthritis, Asthma, Diabetes, Cancer, Lupus, Chronic Pain, Stroke, Osteoporosis, Hepatitis, Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, Anxiety, Depression, Parkinson’s Disease, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Kidney Disease, COPD, and other health issues.

Programs and events at Winnipeg Public Library are always free.

Registration is required. There are 13 seats available.

Public Program Registration Guidelines

  • An email address is required to register for all programs. If you do not have an email address, register by calling or visiting any Library branch.
  • Duplicate registrations for the same name will be cancelled.
  • The Library reserves the right to limit the number of program attendees.
  • Family programs including Baby Rhyme Time, Toddler Time, Family Story Time, and 3-5 with a caregiver programs are an opportunity for caregivers to participate together with their child in the program.
  • School age programs are for children ages 6-8, 6-12, or 9-12. Children attend on their own unless otherwise indicated. Teen programs are for ages 13-17.
  • Programs with children ages 11 and younger require a caregiver to remain in the library during the program. In the absence of a caregiver, the Library does not assume responsibility for a child.
  • Children are not supervised by library staff outside of the program space (e.g. washroom breaks or leaving the program early exit from the program).
  • Children of all abilities are welcome to attend Library programs. If the child requires the support of a caregiver to participate in a program, please speak with staff.
  • Online library programs use Zoom. Please familiarize yourself with Zoom before the program.
