Join Library and Archives Canada (LAC) for an introductory presentation on available resources for military history research. Learn how to search for military personnel records and service files from the First and Second World Wars, and discover techniques for accessing the collections, which include digitized records, such as war diaries, photographs and other resources. The presentation will be in English.

Bibliothèque et Archives Canada vous invite à une présentation sur les ressources susceptibles d’appuyer vos recherches sur l’histoire militaire. Vous apprendrez comment chercher des dossiers du personnel et des dossiers de service de la Première et de la Deuxième Guerres mondiales. Vous découvrirez aussi des techniques pour consulter les collections et les documents numérisés, comme les journaux de guerre, les photographies et bien d’autres. La présentation sera en anglais.

Public Program Registration Guidelines

  • An email address is required to register for all programs. If you do not have an email address, register by calling or visiting any Library branch.
  • Duplicate registrations for the same name will be cancelled.
  • The Library reserves the right to limit the number of program attendees.
  • Family programs including Baby Rhyme Time, Toddler Time, Family Story Time, and 3-5 with a caregiver programs are an opportunity for caregivers to participate together with their child in the program.
  • School age programs are for children ages 6-8, 6-12, or 9-12. Children attend on their own unless otherwise indicated. Teen programs are for ages 13-17.
  • Programs with children ages 11 and younger require a caregiver to remain in the library during the program. In the absence of a caregiver, the Library does not assume responsibility for a child.
  • Children are not supervised by library staff outside of the program space (e.g. washroom breaks or leaving the program early exit from the program).
  • Children of all abilities are welcome to attend Library programs. If the child requires the support of a caregiver to participate in a program, please speak with staff.
  • Online library programs use Zoom. Please familiarize yourself with Zoom before the program.
